Officers are appealing for witnesses following damage to motor vehicles at a garage in Burbage.

The incident happened between 7pm on Monday January 16 and 8am the following morning (Tuesday January 17), when it was discovered that 16 cars had been damaged in Brookfield Road.

All the vehicles had been parked on the front forecourt and corrosive liquid had been thrown over them causing extensive damage.

This incident is being linked to another that took place at the garage between 4pm on Sunday December 4 and 7.45am on Monday December 5, when a brick was thrown over the fence causing damage to a Mercedes parked on the forecourt.

A reward of 2500 has been offered for any information which may lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

PC Michael Francis-Lang is investigating the incident, he said: This is the second time the premises have been targeted in a month and we are linking both incidents.

Extensive damage was caused to a number of cars parked on the forecourt which will end up costing thousands of pounds to put right.

We would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between Monday January 16 and Tuesday January 17 to contact us. We would also encourage anyone with any information about the incident in December who hasnt yet spoken to the police to come forward.
