police,constabulary,leicestershire policeBurglary at city college

Police are appealing for witnesses to a burglary at a college in the city.

The incident happened at around 12.40pm on News Years Day at South Leicestershire College.

Access was gained to the building on Aylestone Road, near to the junction with Saffron Lane and cash was stolen from some vending machines.

PCSO David Brownlow, said: This incident happened in daylight when we believe there would have been plenty of people in the area at the time.

Leicester Tigers were playing at home on the same afternoon and it is possible that fans were making their way to the ground while the incident was taking place.

I would ask anyone who uses this route to the ground, or who happened to be in the area at the time, to think back and see if they remember seeing anything suspicious.

Any information could help with our enquiry.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PCSO 6439 David Brownlow on 101 and follow the instructions to leave a message for an officer. When prompted key in his identification number 6439. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
