Engagement ring stolen from a house in New Parks

Officers from the city have released photographs of an engagement ring which was stolen during a burglary in a bid to trace its whereabouts.

The incident took place sometime between 7.15am and 9pm on Tuesday December 20 in Aikman Avenue, Leicester, when a house was broken into and a number of items were stolen.

A number of items of jewellery were stolen including a white gold diamond solitaire engagement ring, an Indian gold 24 carat necklace and earrings set, the necklace has a gold pendant with several small black stones in it, the earrings are in a teardrop shape.

PC Steve Kilsby is investigating the incident, he said: The victim has been left extremely upset by the theft of the jewellery especially the ring which is of great sentimental value to her.

We would urge anyone who recognises the ring or has been approached by someone selling the stolen items to contact us.

Even the slightest detail could help us locate the stolen property and identify the perpetrators. Any calls received will be treated in confidence.
