Officers from Spinney Hill local policing unit are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted.

The incident took place at 1.30pm on Christmas Eve (Saturday December 24) in Goodwood Road, Leicester.

The taxi driver was travelling along the road and had just driven past the junction with the A47 (Uppingham Road) when the driver of a white BMW 3 Series almost collided with his vehicle.

Its believed that the driver of the BMW then stopped his vehicle in front of the taxi and assaulted the victim. The victim didnt receive any injuries during the incident.

PC Rob Evans is investigating the incident, he said: This is a particularly busy area and there may have been a number of people in the area during the afternoon of Christmas Eve. If you remember witnessing the incident or the events leading up to it then please get in touch.

The taxi driver was in a Mercedes C Class car and the BMW had a partial registration number of NH60 if you believe you saw either of these vehicles then please get in touch.
