Police are appealing for the owner of a dog to come forward after a man was bitten in Oakham.

The incident happened in Welland Way at about 2.10pm on Monday December 12, when the 38-year-old man was bitten on the hand by a boxer dog that was being walked by a woman.

The dog was on a lead at the time of the incident but the bite required hospital treatment.

PC Adam Ploszczanski, the investigating officer, said: The woman walking the dog did offer to help the man and leave her details at the time of the incident but due to shock the man didnt accept them.

I would like to talk to the woman and would ask her to call us and help us with our enquiries.
