Three men have been arrested and remain in police custody following raids on two flats on the east side of Leicester last night (Wednesday November 8).

The men, all in their thirties, have been detained on suspicion of possessing Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply them.

The homes, in Abingdon Road and Gopsall Street, were raided after information provided by members of the local community. A number of items of property have been seized pending investigations into whether they have been stolen.

Sergeant Ben Gillard, from Spinney Hill Park local policing unit, said: We have executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act in response to reports of drug dealing. It is part of our action plan to reduce drug dealing in this beat.

Anybody who has concerns about drug dealing in their area, or anti-social behaviour involving drug use, should phone Leicestershire Police on 101 and ask to speak to their beat officer, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Give us the information we need so we can crack down on these people.

I would like to thank those people who came to us with their concerns about these two properties.
