Police are appealing for witnesses following an incident of damage in Kirby Bellars.

The incident occurred sometime between 7pm on Wednesday August 3 and 11am on Thursday August 4, 2011 when a field on the Main Road was entered by someone taking down an electric fence and cutting the hair from the manes of three ponies.

No ponies were stolen at the time of the incident but it is believed that this was in preparation to identify ponies of value to steal at a later date.

PC Chris Pearson, the officer who has been investigating this incident has said: We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.

We are asking people to think back, were you in the area at the time and remember seeing someone acting suspiciously but havent reported it to the police yet?If so then please call and help us with our investigation.
