Officers from the city centre are appealing for witnesses after a number of vehicles parked in a car park were damaged and property stolen.

The incidents took place around 11am on Tuesday July 19 in the Leicester Royal Infirmary car park in Pelham Way when three vehicles were broken into and property stolen and a fourth vehicle was damaged.

Two Tom Tom satellite navigation systems and a black back pack containing personal items were stolen from the vehicles. The fourth vehicles passenger side window was smashed but nothing was stolen.

Police community support officer Philip Grimwood is investigating the incidents, he said: There were a number people in the car park around the time the vehicles were broken into and we are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incidents or saw two men on bicycles.

The men were seen riding into the multi-storey car park around the time of the incidents, they were both white and one of them was wearing a black coat with a grey hood and dark bottoms and the other was wearing a black top and blue jeans.

The cars were parked on the upper floors of the car park when they were broken into and we would ask people who use the facility on a regular basis to think back to that day and contact us if they remember seeing anyone acting suspiciously.

Anyone with any information about the incidents or the stolen items is asked to contact PCSO 6858 Philip Grimwood on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officers identification number 6858. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
