Leicestershire's great value family days out this summer!
With some of the UKs finest events including the famous Battle of Bosworth re-enactment, the Miners Gala at Snibston Discovery Museum and Leicestershires famous National Forest Wood Fair at Beacon Hill Country Park, theres plenty to keep families and their visitors entertained over the summer.
Leicestershire is a great place to live and visit with exciting attractions, stunning countryside and lots of amazing events happening over the next few months. They create a perfect, great value day out for families and their visitors whatever their age or interest! Theres even a fantastic 20% discount off the entrance fee to either Bosworth or Snibston when local residents and their visitors go to both this summer! Leicestershire County Council has produced a new online guide to help you pick and choose and plan a perfect day out for visitors, friends and relatives who come to stay with you over the summer. The guide includes:
- The top 10 summer events taking place in the county that are not to be missed including the Battle of Bosworth re-enactment on the weekend of 20th and 21st August, the National Forest Wood Fair at Beacon Hill Country Park on 29th August and; Snibstons Miners Gala on 17th September.
- The top 10 places to visit in Leicestershire including Snibston Discovery Museum which is the largest interactive science and technology museum in the East Midlands and; Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre which is set in stunning countryside and is one of the UKs leading historical attractions with a multi award-winning fully interactive visitor centre that tells the story of the famous battle of 1485.
- The top 10 summer activities including cycling with family or friends around several routes for all abilities including family friendly multi-user tracks. Six cycle maps are available to help you explore the County. There are also 100s of summer holiday activities in libraries, museums and country parks many are free with lots to keep younger visitors entertained.

In terms of tourism, Leicestershire is right there at the top with the finest of them all including events like the nationally and internationally important Bosworth Battlefield re-enactment and, Snibstons Miners Gala both of which attract thousands of visitors each year.
