robbery, theft, policeCrime across Hinckley has fallen again

Since the April 1st 2011 crime across Hinckley and Bosworth has fallen by 20.6% - which is 398 fewer victims of crime.

This follows on from the overall results of last year when total crime was reduced by 13.7% - which was 918 fewer victims of crime.

Broken down, this shows that house burglaries have fallen by 32%, with 32 fewer crimes. Robbery has reduced by 33.33%, vehicle crime by 5.3%, crimes involving injury by 30.3%, serious violent crimes reduced by 14.3%, criminal damage by 16.8% and drug offences reduced by 38.5%.

Hinckleys figures mirror those for the entire Force which show that across Leicestershire and Rutland crime has fallen 12.2% compared to the same time last year. This amounts to 9,980 fewer victims of crime.

Inspector Rich Ward, Commander of Hinckley Local Policing Unit, said; I am extremely pleased with these reductions. We have worked tirelessly to get ourselves into this position and I will ensure that my officers continue to work hard with our key partners to maintain the momentum to reduce crime even further. Some of this success has been down to a number of tremendous proactive arrests which have resulted directly from members of the public contacting the police immediately upon witnessing suspicious activity. So my message is SEEN IT? REPORT IT!
