Phone stolen from woman walking along city canal towpath
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman had her phone stolen as she walked along the canal towpath in Leicester.
The incident happened sometime between 5pm and 6pm on Monday July 11, when the victim had her mobile phone took from her hand by a cyclist as she walked along the canal towpath just off St Augustine Road.
The phone is an Apple iPhone.
The suspect has been described as being white and of large build.
PC Gemma Golding, the investigating officer, said: We are appealing for anyone with information about the theft to come forward.
There are a number of flats that overlook that part of the canal and we are aware of a number of people who were in the area at the time of the theft. If you can remember seeing the incident or think you know who is responsible then please get in touch.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 4457 Gemma Golding on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4457. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
