Tom Blakebrough pleads guilty to murder

A Leicester man has pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to the murder of Amanda Hunt in September 2010.

Tom Blakebrough (29) pleaded guilty to the murder today (Monday June 13) and was sentenced to life imprisonment and has to serve a minimum of 14 years.

Amanda Louise Hunt (44) was found dead in a house in Danvers Road, Leicester on Thursday September 30.

Officers received a report of a domestic disturbance at the property and discovered Amandas body and Tom Blakebrough, who had serious injuries.

Blakebrough was treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and then subsequently charged with murder.

The senior investigating officer on the case, Detective Chief Inspector Matt Hewson, said: The officers who initially attended the incident were faced with an horrific scene, this was a violent crime committed by a deceitful and dangerous individual.

The last nine months have been difficult for Amandas family and I hope todays result helps them move on with their lives and put the events of September 30 behind them.

Amanda Hunts family has issued a statement:-

Amanda has died and nothing can bring her back. It hurts to know we will never see her again and she will not be able to enjoy her family and grandchildren into her old age.

Amanda was a caring person who was a dearly loved daughter, mother and grandmother.
