Officers from Charnwood local policing unit are appealing for public help in identifying the people responsible for a number of incidents of damage in Sileby.

Between Thursday February 24 and Saturday February 26 a number of vehicles parked in the Sileby area have been damaged and graffiti has been sprayed on to buildings.

Incidents have occurred in Albion Road, Back Lane, Wards Crescent, Avenue Road and Brook Street.

Police have received eight reports of tyres being slashed in these areas and two incidents of words being sprayed on to buildings.

PC Vik Patel is the local beat officer for the area, he said: Obviously these incidents have caused concerns within the community and end up costing people hundreds of pounds to put right.

I would like to reassure local people that we are investigating these crimes and would urge the community to help us identify the people responsible.

"Have you heard any rumours locally about who may be committing these crimes or have you witnessed any of the incidents, if you can help with any aspect of the investigation then I would urge you to come forward. Any calls received will be treated in confidence.
