There will be plenty to entertain families this half term as Leicestershire County Councils libraries and award winning museums host a fantastic array of events to keep everyone occupied many of which are free!

Theres something for everyone this half term from great value days out at Snibston and Bosworth to exciting craft activities and storytelling in our libraries and museums. A lucky family even has the chance to win free family of 4 passes to Snibston Discovery Museum and Bosworth Battlefield.

Families can choose from a great line up, including the chance to:

  • See and hear what life was like as a miner on the newly extended Snibston Colliery Tour (small extra charges apply).
  • Step back in time to the industrial revolution to watch and smell the steaming stationary beam engines in Snibston's engineering gallery (included in museum price).
  • Meet beautiful birds of prey inBosworth Battlefield'sinteractive falconry display or engage in the interactive exhibition to discover the horrors of medieval battle.
  • Collect clues from the Cinderella trail around Donington Manor House and gardens, the oldest and most beautiful Manor house in Leicestershire or follow your heart around the 'Its a Love Thing Gallery Trail' at Charnwood Museum.
  • Bring in a picture of their own dog for the Harborough museum wall and join in with some canine crafts and activities; an event inspired by the recent discovery of a 2,000 year old dog that used to guard the famous Hallaton Treasure.
  • Get creative in one of the many arts and crafts workshops across Leicestershire's libraries and museums.
  • Find out about the environment and how small changes can make a big difference in the Help Us Save Our Planet activities.
