Witnesses are being sought following a spate of grafitti tagging in the Melton area.

Graffifi tags have been displayed on a caravan parked on the Crescent between 4pm on Wednesday January 19 and 10am on Thursday January 20, 2011 and between 2pm on Tuesday January 1 and 12pm on Wednesday February 2, 2011.

Graffiti has also been discovered on The Fairmead estate, Cranmere Road and Bickley Avenue.

Officers have released photos of the tags in the hope that someone will be able to identify the people responsible from them.

PCSO Lorna Barnett, from Melton local policing unit, said: Those responsible have caused great distress and inconvenience to the owners of these properties.

"Vandalism can have a negative impact on the surrounding community and we hope that someone will be able to identify who these tags belong to and get in touch with any information they have.

"We take this type of crime very seriously and would ask anyone who may have witnessed these incidents, or know who is responsible for the tags, to please come forward and speak to us."
