Step into the wardrobe at Oadby & Wigston libraries

Escape the everyday at Oadby & Wigston area libraries with free learning adventures in Narnia for children and a talk on post-war fashions for adults this February.

Philip Warren, Principal Curator of Collections for Leicestershire County Council's Museums Service, will be giving you a chance to Listen While You Lunch when he brings his knowledge of 1940s fashions to Oadby Library.

This fascinating fashion talk will start at noon on Thursday 10th February, tickets cost 2.50, light refreshments are provided and pre-booking is advised.

Later in the month over the half term break children can keep learning and still have fun with Mini Beast Mania, a chance to get close up to the miniature marvels of nature. This free family event takes place at Oadby Library on Tuesday 22nd February between 10.30am and noon.

The next day Oadby Library will become a portal to the magical world of Narnia for children aged between eight and eleven years old, with Explore Learning activities around C.S. Lewiss classic fantasy series. This half term event is also free, and takes place between 1.30 and 2.30pm.

Also over the half term break, Story Sacks will involve very young children following stories with their carers using fun props, and enjoying crafts, songs and themed play based around the stories.

Story Sacks is suitable for children aged from 18 months to seven years and will take place at South Wigston Library on Tuesday 22nd February between 10.30am and noon and at Wigston Magna Library on Wednesday 23rd February at the same time. Both events are free.

For further details of these and other events, and to book a place on them, please contact Oadby Library on 0116 3058763, visit www.leics.gov.uk/oadbywigston_libraries, or visit your local library.
