Samir Angel sentenced at Leicester Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced at Leicester Crown Court after pleading guilty to robbing an estate agent.
Samir Angel pleaded guilty to robbery at a hearing on December 21, 2010 and was sentenced on Friday January 21 to two years and four months.
The sentence relates to an incident on June 1, 2010 when Angel visited a letting company in Leicester and arranged to view a property.
The agent accompanied Angel on the viewing and was then robbed in the property in Pool Road, Leicester.
Angel stole a number of items during the incident including the victims BMW 325 car.
Angel also pleaded guilty on Friday (January 21) to a robbery which took place days after this incident on June 7 in Leicester.
For this offence he has been sentenced to two years and 10 months, the sentence will run consecutively with the sentence for the robbery on the estate agent.
PC Carl Ball investigated the robbery, he said: This was a traumatic incident for the victim which caused a great deal of anxiety at the time amongst the estate agency community.
No one should be in fear of crime especially when they are carrying out their daily duties, as in this case.
Angel initially denied any involvement in this offence, however throughout the investigation a weight of evidence against him was gathered and he eventually pleaded guilty prior to the trial.
This individual was a danger to the public, that danger has now been removed and he now faces the consequences of his actions.
