The incident happened at about 7.35am on Friday January 7, on Ashby Road near to the junction with the A447 Melbourne Road.

The collision involved one vehicle, a blue Jaguar XF, and a pedestrian. The Jaguar was travelling towards Ibstock when the collision happened.

The pedestrian, 86-year-old Florence Alice Rolleston of Ibstock, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
