police, constabulary, leicestershire policeAppeal after three burglaries in the Blaby LPU area

Detectives from Blaby local policing unit are appealing for witnesses after three burglaries in the area.

The most recent incident took place between 2pm and 5pm on Saturday October 23 in Leicester Road (B4114), Enderby, near to the Toby Carvery public house, when a house was broken into and a number of items were stolen.

Amongst the items stolen was a 37 Samsung flat screen television, a Nikon D40 SLR digital camera, a Nintendo Wii games console, a JVC video camera, a black Advent notebook laptop, cash and jewellery.

During the evening of Saturday October 16 two burglaries occurred in the McDowell Way area of Narborough.

During these incidents a number of items were stolen including two Tag Heuer watches, jewellery including a gold Victorian locket on a 26 or 30 chain, the locket is in an oval shape with a decorative pattern and a diamond in the centre.

At this stage officers are not linking the incidents but are keeping an open mind.

Detective Constable Nick Robbins is investigating the incidents, he said: It is concerning that three burglaries have occurred within a week in the area, these types of crimes leave a lasting affect on the victims whose homes have been entered and had their possessions stolen, often these items are of great sentimental value to them.

I would ask anyone who was in the areas in which the incidents have taken place to think back and contact us if they remember seeing anyone acting suspiciously. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could assist with our enquiries.

If you have been approached by someone selling items similar to the ones stolen in the incidents or you know someone who has recently acquired these items then please contact us.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 1308 Nick Robbins on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officers identification number 1308. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.

* Please note, some mobile phone service providers may charge for this call.
