Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of a robbery in Park Lane, Melton Mowbray.

The incident took place between 5pm and 5.10pm on Wednesday, October 13 when the 18-year-old victim was approached by three men who assaulted him as he was leaving the park near to St Marys Church. He had his mobile phone and wallet taken.

The first suspect is described as around 19 or 20-years-old and was wearing a light t-shirt, black Nike tracksuit bottoms with two stripes on each leg and black and white Nike hi-top trainers. He made off up Park Lane towards the town centre.

The second suspect is described as around 19 or 20-years-old and was wearing blue denim jeans and blue and white trainers. He made off into the town centre park.

On Friday, October 15 at around 1pm the victim was near the skate park in Play Close Park with two friends when he was approached by a man asking him if he wanted to buy a phone. When he was shown the phone and recognised it as his own he took it from the man, who then assaulted him.

The suspect is described as white, between 19 and 23-years-old, around 510 tall, of slim build with dark eyebrows. He was wearing a lightweight waterproof jacket, a hooded jumper with a thick brown furry lining and the hood had a white zig-zag pattern around it. The body of thejacket split into three panels, blue at the top and bottom and black in the middle. He was wearing dark blue baggy jeans and white well worn and scuffed trainers.

Detective Constable Michael Young, who is investigating the incident said: We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed either of these incidents and would ask anyone who thinks they have any information to contact the police.
