Bumper number of events at top Leicestershire attractions!

Hundreds of fun and exciting events are taking place over the next few months in Leicestershire, with many of them at the Countys award winning museums.
The events, many of which are free, are all listed in the new bumper edition of Leicestershire County Councils Events Guide. The 72 page guide includes:
- Lots of fun seasonal events to celebrate the forthcoming festivities including, spooky Halloween walks, Snibstons spectacular fireworks and flames extravaganza, exciting living history events such as Victorian Christmas at Donington le Heath Manor House plus some great shopping opportunities in museums to find that special gift.
- Plenty of childrens activities over half-term week in 18-22nd October, including Apple Day at the Manor House.
- Different environmental activities to get involved in including, volunteering, and helping Watermead Country Park rangers with their annual bird count, plenty of guided walks and even a survival course!
- The opportunity for people to rate any of the events in the guide by giving them a star rating and sharing their experiences with others.
- Details of new library services
- Great book reviews for autumn reads plus details of the latest DVD releases.
Readers also have the chance to win fantastic prizes by entering a competition to leave a pledge for the 2012 Olympics.
Three of Leicestershire County Council museums came top at the Renaissance East Midlands Regional Heritage Awards Bosworth Battlefield won the Best Visitor Experience 2010, while Snibston Discovery Museum was joint winner for Work with Children and Young People 2010. Harborough Museum was highly commended for the Best Exhibition category.
David Sprason, Leicestershire County Councils Cabinet Member for Adults and Communities, said:
There are some fantastic events that are not to be missed over the next few months here in Leicestershire. I would encourage everyone to get their copy of the Events Guide as soon as possible. There is something for everyone to take part in, see and to enjoy.
