4 June 2009 Summers here so pick up an Events Guide!

Make the most of the sunshine and pick up the summer issue of the Leicestershire Events Guide to try something new and exciting!

The Events Guide this summer is bursting with hundreds of free and exciting activities to keep everyone entertained over the next few months. Many of the events are free so you can hang onto the pennies in your pocket!

The summer edition is packed full of information of events and activities in libraries, museums and country parks in Leicestershire between the months of June and September. What better way to find out what to do than to pick up an Events Guide!

Snibston is hosting an ‘Anne Frank + You’ display in June where you can take a fascinating journey into the life and world of Anne Frank, setting her writing against powerful graphic imagery and seeing replica artefacts from her life and the Holocaust.

Step back in time and witness the horrors of mediaeval warfare in the barber’s surgeon’s tent at Bosworth Battlefield. Enjoy a family day out in August and take part in a jousting tournament, mounted skill at arms, weapons demonstrations and see a re-enactment of King Richard’s last charge.

All Leicestershire Libraries are offering a new rewards scheme so collect a point each time you visit a library and borrow six more items so you can take advantage of great free offers.

Did you know we have 50 museums to explore? Visit the newly refurbished Harborough Museum in September and join in the celebrations, and marvel at the arrival of the Hallaton Treasure - 5,000 silver and gold coins!

Dig It and explore the vibrant archaeology scene in Leicestershire and Rutland in July as part of the Festival of British Archaeology. For something more relaxing, enjoy a cuppa at the Classics Tea Room at Donington le Heath.

So, why not get your friends or family together and venture out somewhere new for some fabulous fun happening here this summer? Pick up this free comprehensive Events Guide full of fabulous days out from libraries, museums, country parks and Tourist Information Centres.
