Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of burglary in Glenfield.

The burglary happened between 1pm on Saturday May 2 and 11.45am on Sunday May 3, when the family returned to their home on Faire Road, to find the front door had been forced open.

Upon further investigation it became apparent that a search had been made of the property and a number of items had been stolen.

Items taken include a Nintendo Wii games console and games, a 42” Samsung television, a Toshiba laptop, a Tom Tom sat nav, a Sony digital camera and video camera, a Nokia mobile phone and a Samsung S400 mobile phone, a Police watch, a silver Guess watch and a quantity of cash.

PC Stuart Ormerod, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident.

“We believe that a vehicle may have been used in the burglary, due to the high number of items that have been stolen. Can you remember seeing anyone acting suspiciously? Did you see a vehicle in the area that you thought looked suspicious?

“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, we would like to hear and so would urge you to call us.”

Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC 2928 Stuart Ormerod on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2928. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
