Snibston’s Community Gallery will be hosting an exhibition of post-16 art, graphics, textiles, photography and 3D design by students of King Edward VII Sports and Science College, Coalville from 20 March to 20 April.
The focus of the exhibition is a celebration of the achievements of the college’s year 13 students from the various disciplines of Art & Design studied at King Edward VII College.
The work on display is a result of students’ individual focus study and subject matter as well as specific focus field trips organised by design staff. This year photography students were involved in a field trip to Blackpool where they studied and documented ‘British Culture’ and ‘Street life’ of the northwest seaside town. For the past 18 years students and staff of the college’s Design Faculty have travelled to a European Centre of Art and Architecture as part of the Post-16 Programme of Study. This year 24 students and 3 staff visited Berlin and studied the Art & Architecture of this dynamic city and its historical and political heritage.
This exhibition follows a long tradition of the Design Faculty working with Snibston in order to bring Art & Design into the wider community.
We hope you enjoy the exhibition and will join with us in celebrating the success of those who have contributed to the show, a celebration evening will be held on Thursday, 2 April at the College.
For further information contact Maggie Evans, Head of Design at
King Edward VII Sports & Science College, Coalville.
