Police are appealing for witnesses after a 52-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in Beaumont Leys.
The incident took place as the victim was returning to his car parked on Linney Road at around 5.10pm on Friday November 7, 2008 and noticed two youths standing nearby.
He got into his car and before he could lock the door, one of the youths opened it. They pulled the victim from the car before assaulting and threatening him.
They ran off towards Rawlinson Walk with the victims Nokia mobile phone and wallet containing a quantity of cash.
Both suspects have been described as in their late teens to early twenties. They were wearing dark clothing with hoods up and black gloves and one of them was wearing sunglasses.
The victim was treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary for minor injuries.
PC Louise Rooke, who is investigating the incident, said: "Although the victim was not seriously injured during the incident, he has been left very shaken and frightened by what happened.
"We're appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch. You may have seen the robbery or perhaps you were out in the Linney Road area and may recall seeing two people matching these descriptions at the time of the incident.
"If you have any information regarding this incident no matter how insignificant it may seem or know the identity of these people, please get in contact."
