Information on Leicestershire

Tenants, residents and people who work in the Eyres Monsell area of Leicester are being invited to discuss issues and concerns on local policing priorities with their neighbourhood police team.

Public consultation meetings are being held throughout July to give people a chance to get to know their local police and to ‘have your say' on policing matters affecting the neighbourhood.

Officers will be available on the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, July 10th at the Magpie and Community Centre between 10am to 12 noon with PC 4402 Lou Maguire.
  • Wednesday, July 16th at Sommerfields between 10am and 12 noon with PC 1917 Michael Steer.
  • Tuesday, July 22nd at the Gilmorton Rooms between 2pm and 4pm with PC 1982 Simon Johnson.

The neighbourhood team is currently working to tackle anti-social behaviour around The Exchange and surrounding area, including instances of graffiti; tackle drugs misuse around the Eyres Monsell Estate, in particular in the area of Hillsborough Close and Swinford Avenue and the Gilmorton Estate, by targeting drug users and dealers and to reduce burglaries across the Eyres Monsell and Gilmorton Estate.

Any residents who cannot attend the events but would like to speak to their local officers, can leave a message by calling Leicestershire Constabulary on (0116) 222 2222. Follow the instructions to leave a message and when prompted key in the voicemail number 1076.
