Information on Leicestershire

Neighbourhood officers in Leicester city centre are supporting a series of Service Awareness Days being held in Market Place.

Officers will be at the event between 10am and 4pm on Tuesday June 10, Wednesday June 11 and Thursday June 12.

Officers will be available to discuss any concerns or issues regarding the city centre with shoppers, visitors or people who work in the area. They will also have a range of crime prevention literature to hand out.

PCSO Alaka Samarasinghe from the city centre neighbourhood policing team said: "We are delighted to support these events. Representatives from a range of service providers in the city will be there including Victim Support, Age Concern, Women's Aid, the Blood Donor Service and the City Council's Children and Young People Services.

"Market Place is a busy location and we are hoping to speak with as many people as possible, whether they live in the centre or are just visiting, to discuss any policing concerns they may have regarding the city.

"We will also be asking them a few questions to help us draw up future policing priorities. We are committed to doing all we can to ensure that the city is a safe and pleasant place for residents and visitors to enjoy."

To leave a message for a member of the city centre neighbourhood team call Leicestershire Constabulary on 0116 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message and when prompted key in the voicemail number 9090.
