Series of incidents involving a car in the Uppingham area

Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of incidents involving a car in the Uppingham area.

A black Chrysler Neon was taken from High Street East, Uppingham at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, May 13.

A short while later the vehicle was spotted at The Quadrant, Uppingham, where there was an altercation and the Chrysler was damaged.

The car was later found abandoned in Hopes Yard car park, in North Street East. Another car, which was also found at the site, was damaged.

It is not believed anyone was injured in any of the incidents.

Two men, aged 22 and 23, have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

PC Adam Ploszczanski, who is investigating the incident said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area on that Tuesday night and saw the car being driven around or any of the incidents take place.

"Any information you may have could help us with our enquiries."
