Information on Leicestershire

Police from Beaumont Leys are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at a home on Aikman Avenue.

The incident happened between 6pm on Tuesday May 6 and 11.15am on Thursday May 8, 2008 when thieves broke into a shed in the back garden of the property and stole a variety of fishing equipment including rods, reels and nets.

PCSO Peter Smith, who is investigating the incident, said: "We are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area that could be linked to this incident to get in touch.

"If you have any information about the burglary or any information as the current whereabouts of the stolen fishing equipment then I would urge you to make contact. Alternatively if you are approached by someone selling fishing equipment in suspicious circumstances please get in touch."

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to contact PCSO 6583 Peter Smith at Beaumont Leys LPU on 0116 2222222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 6583.
