On Sunday 21st September Donington le Heath Manor House will be playing host to fierce warriors and knights in shining armour when it holds its 12th annual medieval event called Medieval Mayhem. Donington is widely regarded as one of the finest medieval houses in Leicestershire. The event involves members of four re-enactment groups recreating many aspects of medieval life from its origins in the late Saxon period through to the 15th century

Re-enactors will talk to visitors and demonstrate craft, costume and combat from throughout the medieval period. There will be tented encampments in the grounds and activities within the medieval Manor House itself. There will be the chance to learn medieval board games, try brass rubbing and children’s activities and watch craftspeople at work. Throughout the day there will be activities in the arena including combat displays, a medieval fashion parade and the arming of knights and warriors of the various periods. Younger visitors will have the chance to become medieval soldiers.

Medieval Mayhem is on Sunday 21st September from 11am to 4pm at Donington le Heath Manor House, which is near Hugglescote on the southern outskirts of Coalville. Admission and car-parking is free.
