Leicestershire Roads
Posted on 01/08/08

Results of a survey of Leicestershire's roads, transport and waste services show high levels of customer satisfaction for the third year running.
This years survey was conducted in March by market research company Ipsos MORI and consisted of telephone interviews with 1,000 County residents.
Of the 34 measures involving the County Council's highways, transport and waste services, 15 remain at the same level as last year while a further 14 have improved.
There is a boost in the number of people pleased with public transport, including bus frequency and the condition of bus stops, street lighting and winter salting.
Satisfaction with the road network itself is higher than 2007 with road markings scoring a particularly high 86%.
Figures for the Countys Recycling and Household Waste Sites are also higher, especially for site opening hours, recycling facilities and staff helpfulness.
Dr Kevin Feltham, Cabinet Support Member for Highways, Transportation and Waste, said: We are really pleased with the results of this years MORI survey which show that people appreciate the hard work of the County Council.
"Theres always room for improvement though and we are already working on developing the way we tell people about roadworks and how they are managed.
The 2009 MORI survey will take place in February.
