Play in Loughborough and Charnwood
Posted on 14/06/08
P. Klein

Youngsters in Loughborough will soon be able to enjoy brand new equipment they helped choose for a magnificent 250,000 play area.
Work on the spectacular beneficial project at Loughboroughs Queens Park has now started and should be completed by the end of next month.
It will include a specialist teenagers area and state-of-the-art equipment for children of all ages.
Charnwood Borough Council has contributed 180,000 through its Play Strategy, with 72,000 coming from a grant from the Big Lottery Fund.
Cllr Jane Hunt (Conservative, Loughborough Nanpantan), Charnwoods Champion for Children, Young People and Play, said: We hope that children will come from across the Borough to enjoy this play area.
This development has been focused on delivering equipment that will make a real difference to Charnwoods children.
One existing play area at Loughboroughs Queens Park will remain open until the project is completed. The scheme is part of a 513,000 investment in facilities for children and young people over three years.
Cllr Hunt added: Play is vitally important to childrens development.
This facility will provide local families and young people with a place to gather - a place where a real feeling of community can be built.
