Free event for local companies
A partnership of universities and colleges is holding an event for East Midlands businesses on the 25th June. Through a mix of inspirational keynote speakers, complemented by practical case study presentations on the De Beers group, Kettleby Foods and LOROS Hospice, the event will demonstrate how upskilling the work force can lead to increases in profitability, productivity, efficiency and competitiveness. The event will provide excellent networking opportunities with other companies and the chance to hear about their challenges and successes in developing bespoke training and qualifications for their staff.
Sahar Hashemi, co-founder of Coffee Republic and recently named one of the 20 most powerful women in Britain by the Independent on Sunday, will be providing a key note speech looking at the importance of lifelong learning to ensure people have relevant skills to match the ever changing global economy.
Local companies will have the opportunity to identify higher level training provision that is flexible and responsive to their needs and education experts from across the East Midlands will be on hand to provide advice, guidance and examples of tailored learning options.
The event is being organised by the Skills for Sustainable Communities Lifelong Learning Network which covers a sub-region of the East Midlands across Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland. The Network is made up of partnerships of educational organisations such as universities and further education colleges, who are working together to streamline access to higher education, and open up routes to graduate and post-graduate levels.
To book a place at the event please contact the Network on 0116 252 3693, email:mailto:ssclln@le.ac.uk or complete and submit the booking form available in the events section at http://www.le.ac.uk/ssclln
