Information on Leicestershire

Officers are appealing for information following a burglary at a home in Kegworth.

The incident happened at around 9.10pm on Monday April 14, 2008 when the victim, in her eighties, was in her home in the Wyvelle Crescent area.

She heard the front door open and two men ran into the living room.  They pushed the woman onto the sofa before grabbing her black leather handbag which contained a quantity of cash.

They ran from the property along Wyvelle Crescent towards A6 London Road.

The suspects are described as white, around 20-years-old, of slim build and wearing dark clothing and hooded tops.

The woman was not injured in the incident but was later admitted to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham after complaining of breathing difficulties. She has since been discharged.

PC Paul Anderson, who is investigating the incident, said: "The victim has obviously been left upset and distressed that someone has broken into her home and stolen from her.

"If you can recall seeing two people matching these descriptions in the area at this time or know who they are please get in touch.

"We would like to speak to anyone who has any information regarding this incident."

If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact PC 1921 Paul Anderson on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted enter PC Anderson's identification number 1921. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous, on 0800 555 111.
