Police in Measham are trying to trace the owners of property recovered which they believe could have been stolen.

On April 1, 2008, local officers executed a warrant to search a house on Oddfellows Row and recovered a quantity of drugs and several items of property some of which has been identified as stolen.

Officers believe further recovered items had been stolen and would like to reunite these with their owners.

These items include amongst others a Boschman drill, a Challenge Extreme battery drill, a Makita Jigsaw and red metal tool box.

A 73-year-old man was arrested and cautioned for possession of drugs and handling stolen goods.

PC Stuart Davis from Ashby police station is appealing for anyone who may have recently had similar items stolen to get in touch. He said: "We are very keen to trace the rightful owners of this property and I'd ask anyone who may have similar items stolen to contact me."

PC Davis can be contacted by ringing Leicestershire Constabulary on Leicester (0116) 222 2222 and, by following the prompts, keying in his identification number, 0653. Alternatively, information can be left free* and anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
