Dog Obedience Games Can Help You Teach Your Dog While Playing
Dog Obedience Games Can Help You Teach Your Dog While Playing
By Jimmy Fisher
While many people will take obedience training with their dog for various behavior problems one thing that they might not realize is that you can play obedience games with their dog while training them. I know that if you are like many people you might be asking how it is possible that a game can be used to help keep your dog in line as well, but if you consider that games are a great way to learn for our kids wouldn't it be the same for your pet as well? Here are a couple of reasons why you will want to enjoy playing with your dog while at the same time helping them learn.
The first reason that this can be very beneficial is because you will be able to play with your dog and I have found out that a tired dog cannot create any trouble! Which is very nice when you consider that as a puppy most of them are very energetic and will constantly try to get into anything that they can to tear things up. However, if they are tired then they will not be able to get into things to tear up.
The second reason is that while they are playing and learning at the same time they will be having fun. Which if you consider some of the games that we would have our kids playing while they were learning they had fun which kept them interested in the learning. So the same can be done for your pet as well and will help you keep them interested in what you are trying to teach them.
While playing games with your dog is always fun to do you might not realize that you can use them for obedience training as well. If you want to learn more about obedience training you will want to visit dogbehaviorsolved.info. If you are looking for games for kid and dog games visit this articles.

Playing With Your Puppy
Playing With Your Puppy
By John M Williams
If you play too harshly with your puppy, it might lead to problems such as biting, nipping and food guarding later on. Kids should also be learned to not play too rough, or pull on your puppy's body parts. There are methods that can be used to get your puppy used to child behavior such as screaming and poking. An obedient dog might become fearful of you if you play too rough with them.
A lot of dog trainers criticize the tug-of-war game. But many feel that if tug-of-war is played with the necessary safety measures in place, it is a nice game to play with your puppy. The safety measure entails that you learn your puppy to let go of the toy with a chosen let go command.
These safety measures are to teach the dog or pup to release its toy with a selected release command. Your puppy should leave the toy alone until they have been given a command to go after the toy again and then once more be able to command your puppy to let go of their toy. From time to time you can let your puppy have the toy. But if you let them have the toy all the time, they will think that they are controlling you. Never pull they toy from your puppy's mouth as this will learn your puppy to fight with you. All you want from your puppy is to simply open their mouth and let you have the toy.
There are a variety of commands that can be used for commanding a dog to release something. The commands that should be used include "give" and "let go" and "out". The "out" command is used the most in defense dog training. On the other hand, the other commands are all right to use too.
A tug-of-war game can lead to a puppy becoming aggressive. If you do not teach your puppy a release command and allow them to keep the toy all the time, they will see them self as the controlling party. This will lead to your puppy building up more confidence, and eventually they will want to take charge of the home.
As soon as this happens, most puppies' confidence will increase. The more this happens, the more self-assurance builds up in the puppy which after some time can result in a dog to develop into a dog trying to take charge of you and your home. This is also true for the game of fetch. If your puppy doesn't give up something, you shouldn't just pull it from their mouth as this will let them just clamp down on the toy. This might even lead to aggression.
With these games you should dominate, and make sure that your puppy knows that you are in control.

Excessive Biting in Puppies & Ways to Stop Them From Biting
Excessive Biting in Puppies & Ways to Stop Them From Biting
By Jeremy Hoffman
There is nothing that makes you feel more inadequate than not being able to stop your puppy from biting. You try your best: speak firmly, point your finger, and put your puppy on time out. But, nothing works and you are at your wits end. You can stop your puppy's biting once and for all and not have to deal with the embarrassment and disappointment any longer:
When your puppy nips you, let out a loud yelp. This is how puppies in a litter let each other know they are being hurt. If you ever watched a litter of puppies play together, you will notice this.
Create a makeshift noisemaker. An empty soda bottle filled with about 10 or 20 coins will work perfectly. Shake this bottle briskly when your puppy bites.
Try to stay away from games like Tug-O-War that are based on biting.
Keep your puppy busy- Make sure there are plenty of toys around for your puppy to play with.- Give your puppy plenty of exercise: fetch, walking, running, training, etc.- Feed him/her regularly so that they are not hungry and looking for food.- Create games for your puppy. A good example of this is stuffing peanut butter in a toy so that he/she can get it out.
Offer a treat when he/she bites a toy and not a human hand.
Do not give your puppy an old shoe. He/she does not know the difference between designer shoes or expensive sneakers!
If the puppy is chewing on furniture, try moving the furniture to the other side of the room. If this does not work, stack empty soda cans near the furniture. The soda cans will fall and the puppy should not go near that piece of furniture again.
