3 Common Dog Behavior Questions and Their Solutions
3 Common Dog Behavior Questions and Their Solutions
By Crystal Jordan
There are many dog behavior questions that people ask me, but here I respond to three of the most common ones. The cause of all of the problems are the same. Dog owners who fail to take the time to properly educate themselves about training techniques and who fail to take the time to train their dog.
1. Why is my dog not housebroken yet?. Housebreaking takes time and you may be making mistakes. Housebreaking a dog relies on building habits into your pet. You need to stick to a strict time routine about when you will take your dog outside, and you must monitor him at all times when home, if you can't do this then crate train him.
2. Why is my dog barking? It is natural for a pet to bark when someone enters their territory, or someone is viewed as a threat. The problem is dogs live in our houses. You simple need to train your pet that barking is not acceptable in your home.
3. Why is my dog not listening to me? Your dog is likely not listening to you because you give commands, but don't follow up on them. Every time you give your pet a command you have to be prepared to follow through with consequences if that command is not followed. If you don't do this then your dog has no reason to listen to you.
Remember that the most common cause of dog problems is the owner. They simply do not know enough to do even basic training, which is why there are so many owners ask a dog behavior questions.

Dog Behavior Questions - The Most Common Problem With Dog Behavior
Dog Behavior Questions - The Most Common Problem With Dog Behavior
By Crystal Jordan
Dog behavior questions normally center around how to get the dog to change. The problem with this is it does not involve how the owner can get better in regards to actually teaching and leading the dog. In almost all cases the root of the problem lies with the owner and not the dog.
Owners are often very inexperienced in training dogs and expect dogs to naturally know how to behave in a house. But dogs rely on their natural instincts which include barking, marking their territory and urinating wherever they please.
It is your job as the owner to teach your dog that this is no longer acceptable, and just yelling at them every time they misbehave is not enough.
Here are two tips to help you:
1. Be a strong pack leader. Because they are pack animals, dogs are natural followers, so use this to your advantage. As the pack leader you have to be strong and set down the rules about what is acceptable and what is not acceptable in the house and remember to be firm about it.
2. Use lots of positive reinforcement. The quickest way to train dogs, and even people, is through positive reinforcement. Negative reinforcement techniques like yelling and hitting rarely work very well, and definitely don't work as fast.
The next time you have dog behavior questions, ask yourself if the problem is with your or the dog. Odds are it is you that needs to improve your training skills, so take time time to learn more about dog training.

Are You Dealing With Bad Dog Behaviors? The Major Cause is You!
Are You Dealing With Bad Dog Behaviors? The Major Cause is You!
By Crystal Jordan
The most common bad dog behaviors are housebreaking problems, barking, and alpha dog problems. All these have the same cause, which is you! By learning more about dog training, you can then have a better command of your dog.
Poorly trained owners cannot teach their dogs properly. Dogs are pack animals that want to please a leader. Dogs need a strong leader, and if you do not take the place as pack leader they will.
As a pack animal they want to rise up as far as they can in the pack, which is sometimes why a dog will be submissive to the husband, but not to the wife and kids.
Housebreaking problems are usually the result of a lack of discipline on the owner's part If you would just stick to a strict schedule about when the dog is allowed outside and restricting water access at night, it would go much easier.
Dog barking problems are a simple matter of retraining your dog, and letting them know that it is not acceptable to bark. Remember, it is natural for dogs to bark and to exhibit alpha dog behavior if left to their own devices. You simply have to exert your dominance and your dog will fall in line.
Try to use the fact that dogs are pack animals against them. Dogs do not want to be kicked out of a pack and lose that security, so if a dog feels he is losing out of a pack he will behave.
